Kataragama is one of the most famous Buddhist, Hindu religion pilgrimage city. Not only locals visits this temple, even from South Indian people visits the Kataragama temple for worship 'Kataragama Diviyo' of God Kataragama. Many belive that one of Sri Lankan ancient king Mahasena is the Kataragama Deviyo. Hindu's have their own faith on this temple and the God. Beside of the Hindu temple other important place in kataragama is Kiri Vehera.
The Kiri Vehera dagoba was built by the King Mahasen. The Stupa is 95 ft. in height with a circumference of 280 ft. This is just next to the Kataragama Deawalaya or the Kataragama temple. The temple situated in the Uva Province in Monaragala District. However many belives that the kataragama temple is one of the best place to worship for businessman. Thousands of businessman visits and worship the temple everyday. However on the Sinhala and the Hindu new year ( 14/04/2014) today there was a miracle on the Kirivehera Stupa. This was recorded by video cameras also. the miracle was , some kind of liquid which seems to be looks like pure white milk comes down from the top of the Kirivehera Stupa to down continuously.
